New Album, New Year!

Hey Friends,

2008 is coming to an end and as much as we’d like to reflect on all the fun things we’ve done, we cannot wait for the new year to begin! But before we move on, we want to take this time to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the year- we really couldn’t have done anything without you. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Onto some news... We are extremely excited to announce that we will be recording our second album in February '09 @ 1867 Recording Studio in Chelsea, MA, with engineer extraordinaire, Chris McLaughlin. New songs have been a-brewin’ and we cannot wait to get them recorded.

We are also pleased to announce that the New York based label, Old Flame Records, will be releasing the album and will be distributed by Sony RED. Look out for it in a town near you in spring of ’09!

Until then, keep checking back here and the trusty Myspace page for shows, news, and updates.
We hope everyone has a fun and safe New Year’s Eve, and we’ll see you all in 2009!

Love, Shows/Friends, LOSERS!

Well, hello there!

Here's the latest news:

#1: Pick up a copy of this week's Phoenix (Boston) to read up on some love & music. The theme? Couples in bands. Check it out HERE! (We're on page 3 & 4)

#2: Come by The Middle East (Upstairs) this Saturday to see/hear some great bands. Our good friends Cotton Jones will be sharing the stage with us and we couldn't be more excited.

#3: Thanks to all of you who voted Mean Creek for "Outstanding Americana Act of the Year" in the 2008 Boston Music Awards- we lost, but we really appreciate your support. Congrats to Girls Guns and Glory.

Hope to see you all at the show this Saturday!

Hot off the press!

Mean Creek is featured in 2 magazines circulating 'round Boston for the lovely month of October.

First up: the Improper Bostonian (music edition!) Issue Oct. 8-21, 2008
We were chosen as one of 10 bands to check out in Boston. Ketman was featured, as well... Love those guys/gal. Pick up a copy and read about all the bands!

Secondly: Our live show in June '08 w/ The Subways @ the Paradise in Boston received a rave review in Northeast Performer magazine. You can either pick up a copy in town (look for Amanda Palmer's face!) or you can read the article HERE

A million thanks to Paul Robicheau, music editor @ Improper, and C.D. Di Guardia @ Northeast Performer for the wonderful write-ups.

First Blog!

Hey all,

It's 2:40 a.m. on Monday morning and what better to do than start a blog for the band.
So, here goes....

The inspiration for all this begins with a few tour dates we were lucky enough to be on supporting Dead Confederate (above) and Catfish Haven. Both bands are truly spectacular and it's safe to say that we had the time of our lives playing and hanging out with them.
Aside from TT's in Cambridge, we played The Khyber in Philly and Mercury Lounge in NYC. Both crowds were extremely inviting and we had a blast playing in their cities. The night after our NYC show, Dead Confederate graced our television sets by playing on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. They killed their performance, as expected, and Walker stole the show... :D

All in all, it was a time. We played, we raged, we boosted it up. Now, its time for bed. Good night!

P.S. Check back for more updates!

(we wore ourselves out by spending way too much time in the toy aisle @ the dollar store!)

***Extra special shout-out to Dead Confederate dudes. You guys really inspired us with your songs and live performance. Love you guys.***
